French hospitality group Accor and its Spanish peer Iberostar plan to open in the summer of 2024 a five-star hotel, Rixos, in Sutomore, in southern Montenegro, the Montenegrin government said.
The size of the investment was not specified.
The hotel will employ 400, prime minister Dritan Abazovic said, as quoted in a press release on Monday.
Accor owns, manages and franchises over 5,300 hotels and 10,000 restaurants in 110 countries. It plans to open its first hotel in Montenegro, the Swissotel Kolasin, in the north of the country, by the end of this year.
Iberostar owns over a hundred hotels in 16 countries and handles over 5 million guests annually.
