Montenegro and Bulgaria have signed a joint declaration on air transport cooperation aimed at strengthening connectivity between the two countries. The agreement, signed by Montenegro’s Minister of Transport Maja Vukićević and Bulgaria’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadzhov, includes the creation of a joint working group to establish a direct flight route between Podgorica and Sofia.

The new air link is expected to enhance economic and tourism cooperation, promote cultural exchange, and further develop overall bilateral relations. Both sides indicated that the route could be launched as early as the 2025/2026 winter season, depending on the outcomes of the working group’s discussions.
