During discussions between Ambassador Jiang Yu, the special representative of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs for cooperation with Central and Eastern European countries, and Pavle D. Radovanović, Vice President of the Chamber of Economy (PKCG), along with Montenegrin business leaders, it was announced that China aims to significantly increase its imports of high-quality agricultural products from Montenegro.

“Our goal through today’s discussions is to enhance cooperation to promote Montenegrin exports to China. The Chinese market presents substantial opportunities, and we are keenly interested in your products. We encourage Montenegrin producers to participate in the Ningbo trade fair and the November conference in Hubei Province, where they can engage with numerous entrepreneurs,” Ambassador Jiang remarked.

She also highlighted the potential for deeper cooperation in tourism. Last year, Montenegro attracted over 34,000 tourists from among the million visitors to Central and Eastern Europe.

“Chinese tourists often prefer multi-country visits during their travels, and we hope that Balkan countries will collaborate on joint offerings for our market,” Ambassador Jiang added.

Vice President Radovanović affirmed the Chamber’s commitment to supporting Montenegrin companies in establishing direct communication with potential Chinese partners. He emphasized the diversity of areas for bilateral cooperation.

“While tourism remains pivotal for us, diversifying our economy and reducing import dependency are also priorities. Your support in boosting exports to China is invaluable. There are ample opportunities for collaboration in infrastructure development and green energy sectors,” Radovanović stated.
