The Ministers of Transport of Montenegro and Saudi Arabia, Maja Vukićević and Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, have signed an air transport agreement between the two countries.
According to the Montenegrin Ministry of Transport, the agreement was signed during the Global Transport Connectivity Forum 2025 held in Istanbul.
The bilateral agreement establishes a legal framework for launching direct flights between Montenegro and Saudi Arabia, creating new opportunities to strengthen economic and tourism ties as well as enhance overall cooperation between the two friendly nations.
Following the signing, Vukićević stated that opening the skies between Montenegro and Saudi Arabia also opens doors to new investments, tourism traffic, and business opportunities.
“This is an important step toward better global connectivity for Montenegro and its recognition as an attractive destination in the Middle East,” Vukićević said.
The agreement was signed in accordance with the Chicago Convention and modern international civil aviation standards, allowing airlines from both countries to freely plan flights while adhering to safety, technical, and commercial criteria.
