Montenegro and Serbia collaborate to boost tourism and traffic flow

Montenegro and Serbia have a mutual interest in reducing congestion at border crossings and improving road connectivity to increase year-round visits from this very important market, according to the Ministry of Tourism.

The Minister of Tourism, Simonida Kordić, met with the Prime Minister of Serbia, Miloš Vučević, in Belgrade, where she presented an initiative to introduce transit fees to reduce traffic jams, especially during the summer season.

According to Monstat’s statistical data, Montenegro was visited by 422.81 thousand tourists from Serbia in the first nine months, marking a 2.01% increase compared to the same period last year.

The meeting also addressed the issue of cooperation regarding the organization of EXPO 2027 in Belgrade. This specialized exhibition is of great significance for both countries, as it is expected to attract over three million visitors. In this context, the formation of a working group to prepare Montenegro’s presentation at this prestigious event was also mentioned.
