Montenegro’s Minister of Tourism, Simonida Kordić, met with Nikola Nikodijević, President of the City Assembly of Belgrade, to discuss enhancing tourism and investment cooperation between Montenegro and Serbia.

They focused on increasing tourist traffic, joint activities in international markets, and collaboration in hospitality and investments. Kordić highlighted that Serbian tourists represent 25% of all overnight stays in Montenegro, with around 450,000 visitors annually, emphasizing the importance of deepening ties as Serbia is a top source of direct investment for Montenegro.

Both agreed that infrastructure investments—road, air, and rail—are crucial for strengthening tourism links. Sustainable tourism development and protection of cultural and natural heritage were also highlighted to ensure positive experiences for visitors and locals alike.

The meeting included discussions on cooperation in event tourism and the opportunities arising from Belgrade’s membership in the Silk Road Cities Network, which could foster broader international collaboration with Montenegrin destinations.
