The enhanced Memorandum of Understanding between the Civil Aviation Authorities of Montenegro and Slovenia strengthens their cooperation, supporting Montenegro’s European integration in the field of air traffic. The updated memorandum, renewed after a decade, was signed today in Podgorica by the directors of the civil aviation agencies of both countries, Ivan Šćekić and Miha Šnabl.
The agreement focuses on improving collaboration in air traffic control, safety, and security, as well as assisting with the implementation of European and international regulations. It outlines joint development and flexible use of documentation and human resources in civil aviation. A key element is the intensified cooperation on inspections and oversight of the aviation industry, alongside ongoing alignment with EU legal frameworks and international standards.
The initial memorandum was signed in July 2015 in Ljubljana. Recently, the Montenegrin agency hosted a delegation from Slovenia’s Civil Aviation Agency, including representatives from their aviation industry, for productive two-day meetings where results and valuable experiences were exchanged across various areas.
