Montenegro and Turkey formalize partnership to enhance transport and infrastructure cooperation

Montenegro and Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Istanbul, laying the foundation for enhanced cooperation between the two countries in road, rail, air, and maritime transport, the Montenegrin Ministry of Transport announced.

The MoU was signed by Montenegro’s Minister of Transport Maja Vukićević, Minister of Maritime Affairs Filip Radulović, and Turkey’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu during the Global Transport Forum held in Istanbul.

According to the Ministry, the agreement marks a new chapter in bilateral cooperation.

The memorandum aims to strengthen collaboration across all transport sectors—road, rail, air, and maritime—and facilitate the exchange of experience and best practices in infrastructure projects, transport digitalization, sustainable mobility, and the development of logistics capacities.

By signing this document, Montenegro and Turkey have reaffirmed their strong commitment to intensify bilateral relations and advance joint projects that can enhance regional connectivity and accelerate economic growth.

Minister Vukićević emphasized Montenegro’s recognition of Turkey as an important partner in transport infrastructure.

She expressed hope that the memorandum will serve as a basis for concrete initiatives in the near future.

The signing reflects ongoing dialogue between the two countries and represents a significant step toward stronger regional and international integration.
