The Ministries of Transport of Montenegro and Turkey are set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of transport infrastructure.
According to the Montenegrin Ministry of Transport, Minister Maja Vukićević met today with Turkish Minister of Transport Abdulkadir Uraloğlu on the sidelines of the “Global Transport Connectivity Forum 2025” in Istanbul. The meeting, which took place ahead of the forum’s official opening ceremony, served as an opportunity for the two ministers to discuss prospects for future collaboration between the two countries.
The Ministry stated that the Memorandum of Understanding, aimed at fostering joint infrastructure projects, will be signed tomorrow by Minister Vukićević and Montenegro’s Minister of Maritime Affairs, Filip Radulović, together with Minister Uraloğlu.
The statement also noted that the Istanbul Forum will include the signing of an Air Transport Agreement between the Government of Montenegro and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This agreement, to be signed by Minister Vukićević, is intended to improve connectivity between Montenegro and the Middle East, enhancing the country’s accessibility as a high-end tourist destination.
The Montenegrin delegation, led by Minister Vukićević, is participating in the Forum at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister Uraloğlu, with the aim of strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise in the transport sector.
