The €6.64 million project is funded through a donation from the People’s Republic of China and executed by the Chinese company Shandong Luqiao Group in cooperation with local partners. Work began in July, with an expected completion timeline of eight months.

Minister Vukićević emphasized the bridge’s cultural and historical significance, describing it as a symbol of Montenegro and a testament to local engineering expertise. Director Vuksanović highlighted that the project aims to preserve the bridge’s authenticity while extending its operational life for decades.
