The reconstruction of the Đurđevića Tara bridge in Montenegro is progressing, with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) confirming that an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is not needed for the project. The bridge, located near the village of Budičevice, is part of a regional road connection. The project includes the reconstruction of the bridge and access roads, with a total length of 1.055 km, including 366 meters of the bridge itself.

The Chinese company, Shandong Luqiao Group Co. Ltd., has been selected as the contractor, with work set to begin on May 1. The project will address significant damage to the bridge, particularly the roadway slab, pedestrian paths, and supports. It will involve replacing the damaged roadway slab, strengthening the bridge’s main structure with carbon plates, and improving drainage, signaling, and lighting.

The project also includes the construction of additional parking spaces on both sides of the bridge due to increased tourist traffic. The bridge, built between 1938 and 1940, is a cultural landmark, and the reconstruction will preserve its original appearance. Montenegro has received a €7.05 million donation from China for the project.
