The transport of equipment for Montenegro’s upcoming Gvozd wind farm will begin on Monday evening, Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) announced, asking road users for patience.
The equipment will be transported from the Port of Bar along major routes: M1 (Bar — Sutomore), M1.1 (Sutomore — Virpazar), M2 (Virpazar — Podgorica), M3 (Podgorica — Danilovgrad — Nikšić), and M6 (Nikšić — Jasenovo Polje — Šavnik). During the first night, sections of the wind turbine towers will be transported, followed by other components in the coming nights.
EPCG highlighted that a new additional credit arrangement of €25 million has been signed to expand the Gvozd wind farm, creating the largest-capacity wind facility in Montenegro with a total installed capacity of 75.6 megawatts. The expansion includes the installation of three new turbines, expected to generate over 210 gigawatt-hours annually, sufficient to supply more than 35,000 households.
The project will also reduce carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 137,000 tons per year. EPCG thanked road users in advance for their understanding and patience during the transport operations.
