Starting October 20, the operating hours of Montenegro’s domestic payment system will be extended to include weekends and public holidays, the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) announced.
Under the new rules, money transfers on Saturdays, Sundays, and legal non-working holidays will be processed until 14:30 for amounts up to 1,000 euros, and until 15:00 for amounts above 1,000 euros.
The CBCG previously extended weekday operating hours on August 18, allowing transfers above 1,000 euros until 20:00 and transfers below 1,000 euros until 19:30, with six clearing cycles per day.
The Central Bank emphasized its commitment to building a modern, transparent, and inclusive payment system that facilitates the flow of money and supports the development of Montenegro’s economy in line with European best practices.
