Prerequisites are being created for the construction of a 5-star hotel in Ulcinj to begin on the Suka peninsula, i.e. Cape Ratislava, the location where the Jadran Hotel used to be.

The company Royal is interested in the realization of this investment, and Morsko dobro has received consent to sign a lease agreement with the investor. As could be heard at the Government session, the investment is projected at around EUR 50 million.

At yesterday’s meeting, the government adopted the information on the implementation of the Agreement on the use of marine property, which refers to the location of the former Jadran hotel in Ulcinj, with the Proposal for Annex IV of the contract on the lease/use of marine property and gave its consent to Annex IV of the Agreement.

As they stated, due to the change in the ownership structure of the company Star of Montenegro from Ulcinj, it was necessary to sign this Annex to the Agreement, which will create the conditions for the valorization of state property with the obligation of investment.

Prime Minister Dritan Abazović said that the marathon problem in Ulcinj is finally being resolved.

– Perhaps the most beautiful location in Ulcinj, opposite the Old Town, has been empty since 1979, when an earthquake devastated the famous Hotel Jadran. For more than 40 years, we have been playing dumb when it comes to this location. I think we have reached a situation where we have found a credible investor who will build a prestigious five-star hotel – said Abazović.

As he stated, the Government’s goal is for the operator to be one of the world’s best hotel brands.

– I suggest that we give consent to Morsko Dobro to conclude a contract with future tenants and to start building the hotel. A study of the location will be needed, but the plan even earlier stipulated that it was intended for a hotel. With this, we would put an end to a very important matter not only for Ulcinj, but for the entire coast and the state of Montenegro – concluded Abazović.
The signing of the contract was also welcomed by the Minister for Human and Minority Rights, Fatmir Đeka.

– There have been attempts to solve this problem before, and I am glad that the project has finally been launched and that the realization of the investment will begin as soon as possible. We will solve the issue of Hotel Jadran after 44 years and get an investment in one of the most beautiful locations, the value of which is projected at EUR 50 million – said Đeka, reminding that the local self-government in Ulcinj also supported the project.
