Montenegro June salaries: Finance sector tops while real wages see slight drop

The average net salary in Montenegro in June was 1,010 EUR, marking a 0.4% decrease compared to the previous month. However, compared to June last year, the average net salary increased by 20.5%. The highest salaries were reported in the municipalities of Tivat, Zeta, and Podgorica, while the lowest were in Petnjica.

By sector, the highest average salaries were in finance and insurance, at 1,624 EUR. Other top-paying sectors included electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (1,440 EUR), real estate activities (1,345 EUR), and information and communication (1,289 EUR).

The average gross salary in June was 1,203 EUR. Considering a 0.4% increase in consumer prices from May to June, real wages effectively decreased by 0.8% during the same period.

Municipalities with average net salaries over 1,000 EUR included Tivat (1,179 EUR), Zeta (1,139 EUR), and Podgorica (1,061 EUR). Other municipalities had lower averages, with Petnjica among the lowest at 820 EUR.

Sectors with average net salaries below 1,000 EUR included accommodation and food services (982 EUR), transport and storage (981 EUR), construction (961 EUR), education (942 EUR), and agriculture, forestry, and fishing (940 EUR). The lowest salaries were in manufacturing (873 EUR) and administrative and support service activities (838 EUR).
