Montenegro has taken an important step toward a more modern and transparent business environment. With the launch of the Unified Contact Point (JKT) portal, entrepreneurs and service providers can now access all necessary information about procedures, regulations, and competent institutions for starting or operating a business in one place, the Ministry of Economic Development announced.
The JKT portal (www.psc.gov.me) provides easy access to data on business registration, recognition of qualifications, costs, licenses, and regulations applicable in Montenegro and within the EU market.
This platform simplifies business operations and speeds up the process of exercising the rights and obligations of service providers. It represents a key milestone in the digital transformation of public administration and contributes to creating a more favorable business environment aligned with European standards. The portal connects state institutions with the private sector, making information clear and accessible to anyone seeking to start or expand a business. Through this initiative, Montenegro strengthens institutional support for the economy and fulfills its commitments under Chapter 3 – Right of Establishment and Freedom to Provide Services in EU accession negotiations.
According to the Ministry, the JKT portal simplifies business by centralizing all information about required steps, documents, and regulations. It saves time and money by eliminating the need to visit multiple institutions or search through various sources. It also supports entrepreneurship and digital transformation by serving as a digital tool that bridges the public and private sectors.
Fully aligned with EU standards, the portal meets the requirements of the Services Directive and helps advance the closure of the relevant negotiation chapter. The ultimate goal of JKT is to provide citizens and companies with easier access to information and reduce bureaucratic barriers, turning what once required many steps into a simple and streamlined process.
