One of Montenegro’s most recognizable tourism infrastructure projects — the Kotor–Lovćen–Cetinje cable car — is entering a new phase of development, the Ministry of Public Works announced.

In cooperation with the Capital City of Cetinje, the Ministry has launched a public procurement procedure for the design and construction of the Kuk–Ivanova Korita–Cetinje section, nearly 11 kilometers long.

This extension continues the Kotor–Lovćen route, which has already become a prominent element of Montenegro’s tourism offer.

The project, valued at almost €50 million, will follow a design-and-build model, covering full technical documentation and construction works within a three-year deadline.

The route is fully aligned with the Spatial Plan of Lovćen National Park and Cetinje’s urban planning documents, meeting all environmental and technical standards.

The new cable car will offer panoramic views and greater access to Montenegro’s natural and cultural landmarks, creating new opportunities for local communities and strengthening the country’s position as an attractive international tourism destination.
