The Tender Committee for the concession procedure for the use of Podgorica and Tivat airports has issued a request for proposals, with the support of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), as part of the tender process for granting long-term concessions for these airports.

According to Minister of Economic Development Nik Đeljošaj, this step marks the second phase of the tender process and is a clear indication of the 44th Government’s commitment to completing the process that began in 2019 in the interest of further economic development in Montenegro.

He reminded that, after five years since the start of this process, only the prequalification phase was completed, during which three international bidders were qualified for the second phase.

Considering the importance of further developing the airports for Montenegro’s tourism and overall economic growth, the continuation of this process is of great significance for making a strategic decision regarding the long-term development of Montenegro’s airports, either through a public-private partnership model if appropriate offers are received or through state development of the airports, concluded Đeljošaj in the statement.
