Preliminary negotiations are underway for the construction of the second section of the highway from Mateševo to Andrijevica, and the state has provided a grant of EUR 6 million for a sustainability study for the entire highway and the preparation of design and tender documentation for the continuation of the project.
This was said by the State Secretary in the Ministry of Capital Investments, Admir Šahmanović, at the “Belt and Road – Cooperation between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe” conference.
– The study should show which section will be worked on next. For now, we are negotiating a 22 km highway that will cost around EUR 500 million. We entered into negotiations with the European Commission and as a result we have an approved grant of 40%, 200 million free funds. The rest would be debt with an interest rate of one percent – Šahmanović said, Media Bureau reports.
