According to the VisaGuide Digital Nomad Index, Montenegro ranks as the third-best destination for digital nomads worldwide, following Spain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The index ranks countries based on key factors affecting the lifestyle and working environment of digital nomads, such as internet speed, taxation, tax exemption policies, required income levels, cost of living, healthcare and the destination’s popularity as a tourist spot.
“Montenegro stands out on the ranking list due to its low taxes ranging from 9% to 11%, affordable living costs, and a minimal monthly income requirement of 1,350 EUR, which makes it an attractive option for remote workers,” the statement noted.
Additionally, the local population is known for its hospitality, and the country’s stunning coastline and beautiful beaches further contribute to its appeal.
Other top five countries include the Bahamas and Hungary.
