In Montenegro, a total of 490 cruise trips by foreign ships were recorded last year, according to data from Monstat.
Statisticians reported that there were 626,090 passengers aboard these ships.
The majority of cruise trips in the past year were made by ships registered under the flags of Malta (32.7%), the Bahamas (21.4%), Panama (12.7%), Norway and France (5.3% each), Italy (4.5%), Bermuda and the Marshall Islands (4.1% each), Belgium (3.5%) and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (1.8%).
The purpose of the survey on foreign cruise trips in Montenegro is to gather data on the number of cruise trips made by foreign ships docking in Montenegrin ports, as well as the number of passengers on those trips.
The data collection is carried out through a reporting method, where the reporting units are port captaincies, with the report filled out for the first entry of the ship into Montenegro’s territorial waters.
