According to data from the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG), by the end of October, a total of 20,900 businesses and entrepreneurs were facing account blockages, marking a 0.53% increase compared to the end of September.
The total debt amount that led to these blockages stands at 1.34 billion euros, reflecting an almost 1% rise from the previous month.
The CBCG notes that the concentration of debt is relatively high. The ten largest debtors, representing just 0.05% of all registered entities, account for 31.34% of the total blocked amount, with their blocked accounts totaling 420.2 million euros.
In addition, the 50 largest debtors, making up 0.24% of all registered entities, are responsible for 51.43% of the total blocked debt, amounting to 689.37 million euros.
Regarding the duration of the blockages, 1,840 debtors have been under continuous blockage for up to one year, with their total blocked amount at 37.06 million euros, or 2.76% of the overall blocked sum.
Meanwhile, the remaining 19,060 companies or entrepreneurs have been in a state of blockage for more than a year, with their combined blocked accounts totaling 1.3 billion euros.
