August sees surge in tourist arrivals and overnight stays in Montenegro

In August, Montenegro welcomed 237,900 tourists and recorded 1.09 million overnight stays in collective accommodation, according to preliminary data from Monstat.

Out of the total overnight stays, 92.5% were attributed to foreign tourists, while domestic tourists accounted for 7.5%.

When analyzing the distribution of overnight stays by type of destination, coastal areas dominated with 92.6% of the total. The capital city received 3.9%, mountain resorts saw 2.1%, and other locations made up 1.4%.

Collective accommodation includes hotels, guesthouses, motels, tourist resorts, holiday homes, hostels, and campsites. It does not cover individual or private accommodation, such as rentals in homes, rooms, or tourist apartments.
