The agreement was made with Željko Markuš, the executive director of “Novi Boksiti” doo Nikšić.

During the meeting, representatives from “Novi Boksiti” presented their plans and timelines for upcoming activities to Minister Šahmanović and State Secretary Dino Tutundžić. “Novi Boksiti” has already invested one million euros in equipment for the preparatory and research stages and is currently acquiring additional equipment worth two million euros. Future purchases are projected to reach seven million euros. If the ongoing research confirms the existence of commercially viable red bauxite reserves, the company plans to start extraction operations with a daily output of 2,000 cubic meters over a work period of 220 to 280 days annually, depending on weather conditions. At this stage, the company anticipates hiring an additional 50 workers to operate in a four-shift system. Positions will include machinery operators, drillers, drivers, maintenance staff, warehouse workers, and security personnel.

In collaboration with local community representatives, the company also intends to implement a scholarship program aimed at young professionals with secondary and higher education qualifications, further encouraging youth employment in the mining sector. The average net salary for workers during this phase is expected to exceed 1,000 euros.
