Montenegro’s Minister of Energy and Mining, Admir Šahmanović, emphasized the central role of energy in global developments, including the green agenda, energy transition and changes in energy markets, during his official visit to the United Arab Emirates.
In Abu Dhabi, Šahmanović met with UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazroui to discuss strengthening strategic partnerships, particularly with countries that have advanced technology and expertise. He highlighted Montenegro’s focus on attracting new investments in solar and wind energy as key assets for energy transition, energy independence, and economic stability.
The two ministers discussed enhancing cooperation in energy, focusing on renewable energy projects, improving energy efficiency, and strengthening institutional capacities in Montenegro. Al Mazroui extended an official invitation for Montenegro to join the Global Energy Efficiency Alliance, which would provide access to expertise, modern technologies, and financial instruments for advancing energy efficiency.
He also noted that the UAE is ready to support, cooperate, and invest in Montenegro, recognizing the country’s potential for joint energy projects. Šahmanović expressed gratitude for the invitation and support and confirmed Montenegro’s readiness to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation and participating in global initiatives for sustainable development.
