The Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) held a workshop on instant payments for banking sector representatives as part of preparations for the introduction of the TIPS Clone system.
The TIPS Clone platform, modeled after the European Target Instant Payment Settlement (TIPS) system, will allow individuals and businesses in Montenegro to send and receive payments in real time, 24/7, starting from July next year.
The workshop, led by international payments expert Kjeld Herreman, was attended by over 50 representatives from Montenegrin banks and CBCG project team members.
CBCG continues efforts to modernize the financial sector and integrate Montenegro into the European financial ecosystem, in close cooperation with the banking sector.
