Minister of Transport Maja Vukićević announced that Monteput has informed her that the tender for the construction of the second section of the highway from Mateševo to Andrijevica will be published at the end of February or the beginning of March.
“The tender will be open to everyone, there should be no restrictions on who can or cannot win the contract. The selection will be based on who offers the best proposal. The tender will follow the rules of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and I expect a fair decision. The best bidder will gain Monteput’s trust, and the results will then be forwarded to the Government. I hope there will be no conditions attached,” Vukićević told TV Adria.
The Transport Minister emphasized that there are no favorites in the process.
“It doesn’t matter to us who wins the contract, as long as it’s a reputable company. The most important thing is that the job is completed with high quality,” Vukićević stressed.
The highway, as she reminded, is expected to connect Montenegro with Serbia, and more details will be shared when the third phase of construction begins.
