Montenegro’s agricultural and fisheries product purchases and sales in Q4 reach 12.4 million EUR

The value of the purchase and sale of agricultural, forestry and fishery products from businesses and cooperatives with two or more employees in the fourth quarter of last year amounted to 12.4 million EUR.

According to Monstat, of this amount, the value of sales from own production was 4.6 million EUR, or 37%, while the value of purchases from individual agricultural producers was 7.8 million EUR, or 63%.

“The value of the purchase and sale of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products from businesses and cooperatives with two or more employees in the fourth quarter of last year, compared to the same quarter in 2023, saw a decline of 3.8%, with a decrease in the value of sales from businesses’ own production by 3.5%,” the statement said.

A decline was also recorded in the value of purchases of agricultural products from individual producers, which dropped by 4%.

In terms of the structure of the value of purchases and sales of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products in the fourth quarter of last year, raw cow’s milk accounted for 21.1%, livestock by type and category made up 20.6%, chicken eggs 20.1%, fresh vegetables 11.9%, other products 11%, fresh fish 6.8%, fresh fruits 6.6%, industrial plants 1%, and fruit and grape products 0.9%.
