Average net salary in Montenegro rises 0.4% in July, real wages fall

In July, the average net salary in Montenegro reached 1,010 euros, marking a 0.4 percent increase compared to June, according to Monstat. Year-on-year, net salaries rose by 19.2 percent. The average gross salary in July was 1,210 euros.

Adjusting for a 0.6 percent rise in consumer prices from June, real wages fell by 0.2 percent.

Salary increases from June to July were observed in several sectors, including information and communications (4.9%), accommodation and food services (4.8%), construction (3.4%), manufacturing (1.6%), agriculture, forestry, and fishing (1.4%), and water supply and waste management (1.3%). Moderate growth was also recorded in transport and storage, healthcare and social protection, education, and trade.

Declines in average net wages were seen in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (4.2%), public administration and defense (3.2%), finance and insurance (0.9%), real estate (0.7%), and professional, scientific, and technical activities (0.2%).
