Montenegro’s total foreign trade goods exchange in the first three months, according to preliminary data from Monstat, amounted to €1.08 billion, which is a 6.8% increase compared to the same period last year.
Monstat announced that exports were worth €150.1 million, a 0.5% decrease compared to the same period last year. Imports, however, increased by 8.1%, reaching €934.1 million.
“The import coverage by exports stood at 16.1%, which is lower compared to the same period last year when it was 17.5%,” the statement said. In the export structure, the largest share was held by mineral fuels and lubricants, amounting to €48.8 million, which includes electricity at €42.4 million and other goods.
The largest share in imports was occupied by machinery and transport equipment, totaling €241.9 million, including road vehicles worth €99.8 million and other goods.
Montenegro’s biggest foreign trade partners in exports were Serbia with €37.8 million, Switzerland with €17.5 million, and Slovenia with €16.6 million.
The largest foreign trade partners in imports were Serbia with €149.8 million, China with €125.9 million, and Germany with €95.5 million.
The highest foreign trade exchange was recorded with the signatories of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) and the European Union (EU).
