In October, the total value of payment transactions processed over 23 working days amounted to 2.02 billion EUR, marking a 4.7% decrease compared to September, according to data from the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG).
Of this total, 93.63% was processed through the Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system, while the remainder was processed via the Deferred Net Settlement (DNS) system.
The RTGS system handles individual payment transactions between participants on a gross basis in real-time, while the DNS system processes interbank payments on a net basis with a delayed settlement.
“In October, a total of 1.3 million payment orders were processed over 23 working days, with 38.97% in the RTGS system and the rest in the DNS system,” the CBCG report states.
The average daily volume of payment transactions, measured by the number of orders in both the RTGS and DNS systems, was 56,680 orders, while the average daily value of payment transactions amounted to 87.74 million EUR.
In October, the system experienced no downtime for 12,540 minutes of production, achieving 100% system availability.
