The Tenants’ Association of Montenegro has officially launched its first organized support model for tenants, aimed at creating a fair and secure housing market.
“This innovative model offers numerous benefits for both tenants and landlords, including a subsidized 12th rent payment, legal assistance, and the opportunity to participate in future housing projects organized by the Association,” the statement said.
The Association, recognizing the challenges faced by tenants – such as high rents, unstable contracts, and insufficient legal protection – has developed a solution that guarantees greater security and stability for all participants in the real estate market.
Key benefits for tenants include a subsidy of up to 300 EUR for the 12th rent payment after regularly paying the first 11, legal support in cases of disputes with landlords, the possibility to apply for future housing projects by the Association, as well as transparent contracts without high commissions.
“Membership is open to all tenants, regardless of whether they have an official contract with their landlord. To participate, tenants must sign a membership agreement and, with an annual membership fee of 60 EUR, they will be eligible for all the aforementioned benefits,” the statement added.
The Association emphasized that its goal is to provide tenants with security and more favorable living conditions, while also offering landlords a model that ensures regular rent payments and reduces risks when renting out properties.
Applications opened on April 1, and all interested parties can register through the Association’s contact channels and website.
“The Association encourages tenants to take advantage of this opportunity to secure safer living conditions, invites landlords to join the model, and calls on institutions and the private sector to support the initiative to regulate the housing market in Montenegro,” the statement concluded.
