Representatives from Airports of Montenegro (ACG) and two major trade unions have signed a new Collective Agreement, marking a significant step towards improving the economic and social status of the company’s employees.
ACG officials stated that the Collective Agreement is fully aligned with current labor regulations and ensures the maximum possible protection of employees’ rights. The new agreement, which takes effect on January 1, was signed by Jelena Maraš, Chairwoman of ACG’s Board of Directors, Executive Director Roko Tolić, and the union leaders of the Podgorica and Tivat airports, Slobodan Martinović and Ljubiša Džudović.
A long-awaited agreement
“This agreement is a significant milestone for ACG employees who have been waiting since 2008 for salary increases and the adoption of the Housing Regulation. We approved the Housing Regulation a month and a half ago, and now, we have the Collective Agreement,” said Martinović, expressing hope for continued positive collaboration with the employer.
Džudović, speaking on behalf of Tivat airport employees, thanked the ACG management for their efforts and commitment. “I also congratulate all union members and those who have supported us, even if they are not union members, on the salary increase. I look forward to the company’s continued prosperity,” he said.
Management’s commitment to employees
Roko Tolić emphasized that the new Collective Agreement represents one of the most significant achievements for the company. “In business, there are ups and downs, but we must never stop being a company with a human face. To achieve this, the symbiosis between management and employees is crucial—it is the key to success. Signing this agreement is another step in changing the perception of ACG,” Tolić stated.
He added that the public has often viewed Airports of Montenegro as a company in stagnation, with an excessive number of employees who were not delivering the results expected by the state. However, Tolić expressed full confidence in the majority of ACG employees, who demonstrated their capabilities during a successful summer season.
A vision for modern, European-style airports
“I expect that we will transform our airports in Podgorica and Tivat into modern European-style hubs, positioning them as key connectors for Montenegro to the world and as the backbone of the country’s tourism and economy,” Tolić concluded, stressing the importance of employee dedication to the company’s growth.
