Over 2.7 million vehicles have passed on Princess Ksenija Highway in 2024

Since the beginning of this year, a total of 2.72 million vehicles have passed along the Princeza Ksenija Highway, according to data from the Monteput website.

This represents an increase compared to the previous year, when 2.29 million vehicles used the highway, and a significant jump from 2022, when only 1.14 million vehicles had passed since the highway’s opening in mid-July.

The priority section of the Bar-Boljare highway was officially opened on July 13, 2022, and opened to traffic the following day. The first seven days were toll-free, but after that, tolls were introduced: 1.5 EUR for motorcycles, 3.5 EUR for passenger vehicles, and 17 EUR for trucks and buses.

The total length of the first section of the highway is 41.5 kilometers, featuring 20 main bridges, nine bridges at ramp intersections, two overpasses, eight underpasses, 7.2 kilometers of concrete walls, and 16 twin-tube tunnels.

The section includes four interchanges with toll booths, connecting the highway to the existing road network. These interchanges are located at Smokovac, Pelev Brijeg, Veruša and Mateševo.

The maximum speed limit on the highway is set at 100 km/h.
