Platinum Distribution has received approval to build the 4-star eco-hotel Tara Retreat in Kolašin, located in the Moračko Trebaljevo area. The project, which was initially approved in 2022 by the state architect, has now received the green light from the Environmental Protection Agency following the approval of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
The EIA determined that the project complies with environmental protection laws and includes measures to mitigate potential environmental harm during construction and operation. These measures include provisions for monitoring the project’s impact on the environment, particularly in the case of accidents.
The hotel will consist of three interconnected buildings, designed to blend with the natural landscape and follow the river. The design includes:
- Building A and B: These two buildings are connected, with a shared entrance and lobby, providing access to cascading terraces leading down to the river. Building A will house a restaurant, while Building B will feature a wellness/spa area with an indoor pool. Both areas will offer views of the surrounding forest through a glass roof.
- Building C: This building will have its own reception and is connected to Buildings A and B by an underground heated link. It will contain four large apartments, each with living spaces on the ground floor and bedrooms upstairs.
Public spaces on the ground floor include a reception, lounge bar, restaurant, spa center, and business areas such as a retail shop for local products. The upper floors will feature apartments with views of the Tara River. The hotel will also include technical rooms in the basement, such as storage, staff areas, and laundry facilities.
The total area for Buildings A and B will be approximately 4,295 m² (gross), with Building C covering 1,772 m² (gross). The hotel will have a total of 61 parking spaces, which meets the required standards.
The project aims to create a sustainable, eco-friendly hotel that integrates with the natural beauty of the region while promoting tourism development in Montenegro.
