The budget for the capital city in 2025 is planned at €153 million, with the largest portion allocated for capital projects such as the construction of roads, garages and green spaces, according to the Secretariat for Financial Affairs and Budget Analysis. They emphasize that budget spending will be transparent.
The city budget for 2025, if approved, will be 19% higher than the budget for the current year, said the Secretary for Financial Affairs and Budget Analysis, Balša Špadijer. He noted that around €86 million will be allocated for capital projects.
“We can already talk about the continuation of the construction of Pera Ćetković Boulevard, and I believe we will bring the contractor into the works in the next 15 days. We have a contractor for Kozaračka Street. Veljko Vlahović Boulevard is already in an advanced stage, and we expect this project to be completed by mid-May. The tender procedures for the construction of Vojislavljević Boulevard are finished, and adequate offers have been received,” Špadijer explained.
Funds have been allocated for the construction of promenades, the long-awaited underground garage at Božana Vučinić Square, and the eastern stand at the City Stadium. Podgorica is also expected to receive new buses.
Špadijer added that the capital city will continue investing in the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Botun.
“We have planned to spend up to €10 million. Almost all the equipment has been purchased, paid for, and is in the capital. The project is in the final review phase. The environmental impact assessment report is very favorable. For the first time, the budget includes investments in the development of Podgorica’s tourist potential, and around €140,000 will be allocated for this purpose,” Špadijer concluded.
