A portion of the employees at the Bar-based company Port of Adria will go on strike starting Thursday.
“Due to the employer’s failure to honor the agreement with the union regarding wage increases for employees starting in January this year, as well as the refusal to negotiate the drafting of a collective agreement, a portion of employees will begin a strike starting Thursday”, reads a statement sent to the media by the Union of Free Trade Unions.
The strike demands include a 15% wage increase, the creation of a collective agreement, and payment of the regular wage for employees who participate in the strike during its duration.
“In light of the alarming situation employees are facing, and being forced to initiate the strike, the Port of Adria Union Organization has also informed the Ministries of Maritime Affairs and Labor, Employment, and Social Dialogue about the strike,” the statement concludes.
