Princess Ksenija highway sees 1.39 million vehicles this year

Since the beginning of this year, 1.39 million vehicles have passed through the Princess Ksenija highway, according to Monteput data.

In previous years, traffic volumes were 2.87 million vehicles in 2021, 2.29 million in 2023, and 1.14 million in 2022.

The priority Bar-Boljare highway section was officially opened on July 13, 2022, and became operational the following day.

Toll fees after a free first week are €1.50 for motorcycles, €3.50 for passenger cars, and €17 for trucks and buses.

The highway section is 41.5 kilometers long and features 20 bridges on the main route, nine bridges on ramps, two overpasses, eight underpasses, 7.2 kilometers of concrete walls, and 16 twin-tube tunnels.

It includes four interchanges with toll booths connecting the highway to existing roads at Smokovac, Pelev Brijeg, Veruša, and Mateševo.

The maximum speed limit on the highway is 100 km/h.
