The presidents of Serbia and Montenegro, Aleksandar Vučić and Jakov Milatović, discussed important issues in Belgrade – from infrastructural issues, the construction of highways that will connect us, to get from Belgrade to Podgorica in 4.5 hours, the need for further construction of the railway line, further connection in terms of energy.
According to Vučić, this refers to the Pljevlja-Bajina Bašta transmission line, where there are technical discrepancies and problems, which were analyzed today.
There was also talk of an announcement from Montenegro that intends to build a liquid gas terminal in Bar.
– Serbia is interested in buying part of that liquefied gas, that’s why we are ready to immediately release the steel pipes towards the measuring station, which would be in Bijelo Polje. Therefore, we Zlatibor – Prijepolje – Bijelo Polje measuring station, so that we can connect and take over significant quantities of that gas – said Vučić.
He stated that it would be possible to take over 2.7 million cubic meters per day, which, he points out, is not enough, but would help further security of supply and diversification of gas supply in the future.

They also talked about the possibility of introducing direct payment transactions between Serbia and Montenegro, and Vučić said that this is an important issue and one of the obstacles in the development of business and economic relations between the two countries.
– I would not like to talk about who is to blame for that, but I just want you to know that it is completely clean from our side. Something else is at stake here. The largest number of correspondent banks in Montenegro are from Switzerland and Germany, so they want to work with them. It has been working here for 15 years with BiH, where the currency for payment is the convertible mark. According to the principle of international clearing, there is no problem – said Vučić.
The President of Serbia also pointed out that the allegations that Poštanska Štedionica Bank will buy Prva Banka from Montenegro are untrue.
