Sozina Tunnel sees over 500,000 vehicles in 2024, with steady traffic growth

Since the beginning of the year, the Sozina Tunnel has served 527,980 vehicles.

According to data from the Monteput website, which manages the tunnel, 3.78 million vehicles passed through the tunnel last year.

In 2023, 3.52 million vehicles passed through the tunnel, while in 2022, the number was 3.07 million.

The Sozina Tunnel opened in July 2005. Its construction cost approximately 74 million euros, with 50 million euros provided by Montenegro and 24 million euros financed through a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).

The Sozina Tunnel is 4.19 kilometers long and connects the coastal region with the central part of Montenegro.
