The Sozina Tunnel has served 872,400 vehicles since the beginning of the year.
According to data from Monteput, the company that operates the tunnel, a total of 3.78 million vehicles passed through the tunnel last year.
In 2023, the tunnel saw 3.52 million vehicles, compared to 3.07 million in 2022.
Opened in July 2005, the construction of the Sozina Tunnel cost around €74 million, with €50 million funded by Montenegro and €24 million provided through a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).
The tunnel is 4.19 kilometers long and connects the coastal region with the central part of Montenegro.
