Spanish companies are eager to expand their operations in Montenegro, as discussed in a meeting between Tourism Minister Simonida Kordić and the newly appointed Ambassador of Spain, Juan Hose Sans Aparisio.

“You have an excellent gastronomic offer, good wine, and with a balance of attractions from both the south and the north, you can attract many visitors. Spain has achieved great success in tourism, which makes me confident that we can enhance our relations in this area,” said Aparisio.

Both Kordić and Aparisio expressed satisfaction with the friendly and strong ties between the two countries, noting that there is still room for improvement and expansion of cooperation.

“The goal of Montenegro is to become the 28th member of the European Union by 2028. While we appreciate the support you provide on an international level, I must emphasize that our economic relations are also strong, as evidenced by the presence of the Iberostar hotel brand, which contributes positively to our tourism offer,” stated Kordić.

Aparisio highlighted that Spain will continue to support Montenegro on its European path, adding that he hopes an embassy will be opened in Podgorica by the time Montenegro joins the EU.

The meeting, attended by State Secretaries Vuk Žižić and Petar Drašković, concluded with an agreement to maintain communication and inform potential investors about the undiscovered parts of Montenegro.
