Montenegro’s President, Jakov Milatović, stated that stabilizing the political situation in the Budva municipality should create conditions for developing policies that will guide Budva toward economic progress, with effective management.
“Improving infrastructure, careful spatial planning, and continued investment activities must be prioritized to ensure sustainable development for Budva, enabling it to rank among the leading European tourist destinations, to the benefit of all residents of this city and Montenegro,” Milatović said in his congratulatory message on the occasion of Budva’s Municipal Day.
According to a statement from his Public Relations Office, Milatović sent his congratulations to all employees of the municipality, as well as the citizens of Budva.
“Today, we remember the freedom struggles of the people of Budva and all of Montenegro, who, through resistance, bravery, and fighting spirit, defeated the fascist occupiers. The ideals of the anti-fascist struggle continue to guide us in building a better future for all citizens of our country,” Milatović remarked.
He emphasized that Budva, a “jewel of the Mediterranean” located in the heart of Montenegro’s coastline, with its natural beauty and rich cultural and historical heritage, remains a key tourist destination and the backbone of the country’s tourism industry.
Milatović highlighted that the city’s traditional hospitality and diverse tourism offerings continue to attract visitors from around the world, making a significant contribution to the growth of tourism and the economy of Montenegro.
