The government intends to strengthen the partnership with the World Bank (WB), which is ready to provide support to Montenegro, not only through credit programs and direct loans, but also expert consultations and training, the Ministry of Finance announced.
Finance Minister Novica Vuković and his colleagues met with the WB team led by the head of the WB Office for Montenegro, Christopher Sheldon, with whom he discussed the partnership with that financial institution, joint projects, but also the current economic situation and the state of public finances in Montenegro.
Vuković, expressing satisfaction that he already met with representatives of one of the most important financial institutions at the very beginning of his mandate, expressed the Government’s intention to strengthen this partnership, as well as to speed up the completion of all started joint programs and strategically plan new ones.
Sheldon wished Vuković success in leading one of the key state departments, at the same time expressing the readiness of the institution he represents to provide support to Montenegro.
Sheldon reminded that the development of the Partnership Framework for cooperation with Montenegro for the period from next year to 2028 is in progress, which will define the priority areas of cooperation, and presented the financing possibilities provided by DPL – a loan based on development policies.
