Serbia was by far the largest foreign trade partner in imports

The total foreign trade of Montenegro for the period from January to April amounted to EUR 1.39 billion, according to Monstat’s preliminary data. That, as they stated, is a growth of 13.6% compared to the same period last year.

The export of goods had a value of EUR 271 million, and the import was around EUR 1.1 billion. Compared to the same period last year, exports were lower by 2.7%, and imports were higher by 18.4%.
The coverage of imports by exports amounted to 24.3% and is less compared to the same period of the previous year when it amounted to 29.6% – announced from Monstat.

In the structure of exports according to the standard international trade classification (SMTK), the most represented are mineral fuels and lubricants in the amount of EUR 161.3 million, which are made up of electricity with EUR 155.3 million and others.

In the structure of imports, machines and transport devices are the most represented in the amount of EUR 262.6 million, namely road vehicles with EUR 92.4 million and others.

In the first four months, we exported the most goods to Serbia – EUR 65.4 million. Followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina with EUR 45.3 million and Slovenia with EUR 44.9 million.

Serbia was by far the largest foreign trade partner in imports, where goods worth 187.3 million EUR arrived. Montenegro imported goods worth EUR 130.8 million from China, while in third place is Germany, from which we imported goods worth EUR 107 million – Monstat data show.
Foreign trade was the largest with CEFTA signatories and with the European Union.
