The prices of accommodation and services on the Montenegrin coast will be up to 20 percent higher than the previous summer

This season, the prices of accommodation and services on the Montenegrin coast will be up to 20 percent higher than the previous summer.
Prices in private accommodation in apartments in Herceg Novi range from 30 to 100 euros, a standard four-bed apartment costs 60 euros on average, and a bed in a room costs 10 to 15 euros per person, says Natalija Terzić, spokesperson for the Herceg Novi Tourism Organization.
“The prices of hotel accommodation in the season range from 30 to 300 euros per person, or from 190 to 1,000 euros per apartment.” Out of this category are luxury resorts such as: One&Only Portonovi, room prices in the season range from 500 to 3,800, and prices in Portonovi villas from 450 to 7,490 euros. At Lazure Hotel & Marina, the price starts from 350 euros per person – bed and breakfast. Depending on the category of the hotel and occupancy of the room, the prices vary, considering that children up to 12 years of age also have special benefits – discounts. Also, there are special benefits for children where the facilities in the hotel accommodation are available for free use, namely: swimming pools, children’s playgrounds, sports fields…” Terzićeva points out.
She says that according to the information she receives from hoteliers and publishers of private accommodation, the announcements of the season are excellent.
“There is great interest from tourists.” We also know that most of the capacity is already filled, so we hope for a really successful season. This year’s good pre-season heralds a successful tourist season. That’s how it used to be, and restaurateurs hope that this summer will also be a season that will be talked about, as one of the best. “Given that the entire preseason is better than the previous one, we are sure that this trend will continue during the main and postseason,” Terzić points out.

More expensive in Budva as well

Accommodation prices in Budva are twenty percent higher than last year.
Nemanja Kralj, deputy director of the Budva Tourism Organization, recently said that accommodation prices in the Montenegrin metropolis of tourism this summer will be up to 20 percent higher than the previous summer.
“Specifically, the price of an overnight stay with breakfast in a three-star hotel will be from 28 to 46 euros per person. So, I’m talking about the peak tourist season in July and August. In four-star hotels, the price of a night with breakfast is from 37 to 140 euros, and in five-star hotels from 160 to 270 euros per night,” said Kralj.
As far as private accommodation is concerned, the price of a bed in a double room will be from 20 to 50 euros per night.
“When it comes to apartments, the price of accommodation for a family of four ranges from 60 euros per night and upwards, there are some that are rented for 200 euros, it depends on the category of the apartment, the location, what the apartment has, what is offered to the guest”, he points out.
Branka Džoganović, president of the publisher of the Association of Private Accommodation for Sputnik, points out that a bed in a private accommodation will cost from 10 to 12 euros until the peak of the season in Budva, depending on the location and category, and from 15 July to 20 August from 12 to 20 euros.
In Budva, including its hinterland, there are 32,000 beds in rooms, apartments, houses and villas for rent, while in the area from Jaz beach to Buljarica beach, there are currently over 140 hotels active, more than half of which are highly categorized with four and five stars.
Budva restaurateurs claim that prices in the Montenegrin metropolis of tourism are 30 percent lower than on the Croatian coast.

The Bar Riviera is the cheapest

According to tradition, the cheapest summer holidays for tourists are on the Bar Riviera, Sutomore, Sušanj, Veliki Pijesak, Drobni Pijesak, Bar itself are places where during the summer you can find accommodation and a bed from 7 euros to 20 euros, depending on the category and locality.
Jovana Nenezić, PR manager of the Tourism Organization of Bar, said that there are currently 1,1134 tourists staying in the territory of the municipality of Bar, which is 32% more than last year.
“In contact with the tourism industry, we can say that we are satisfied with the interest of tourists for the season, and judging by the number of guests staying on the Bar Riviera at the moment, we have a good pre-season,” Nenezić said.
She says that the price-quality ratio in both private and hotel accommodation is a comparative advantage of that destination compared to other cities on the Montenegrin coast.
“Prices of beds in the pre-season in private accommodation range from 7 to 50 euros, and in hotels from 31 to 50-85. euros per person. The prices of hotel and private accommodation during the summer tourist season are from 50 to 125 euros in hotel accommodation, while the prices in private accommodation are from 10 to 100 euros per person,” says Nenezićeva.
Announcements for the season, especially in hotel accommodation, are certainly a reason for optimism.
“Earnings also depend on non-boarding consumption by guests, so we would not give such indications for now. Our common goal is to respond to all the requests of tourists who come to our city, and we are dedicated to that. In the pre-season period, we continuously worked on the promotion of the destination and we hope for good results and a successful summer tourist season”, says Nenezićeva.

They are also hoping for a good season in the north of Montenegro

Vanja Krgović Šarović, director of TO Žabljak, said that the pre-season was accompanied by bad weather, with a lot of precipitation, which affected the number of overnight stays. The majority of tourists stayed one night, rarely two, and mostly opted for collective accommodation. During May, interest in excursion tourism was highlighted, with an emphasis on visiting the Black Lake.
Bookings are very good for the main season, especially July and August.
“Compared to the previous year, the prices in all tourist and hospitality facilities have increased by 10-15%.”
Judging by the announcements and current interest, we expect a very high quality season. We can say that it will be a record, but what we expect to achieve is approximately in 2019,” Krgović Å arović points out.
TO Kolašin indicates that the weather during May and June affected fewer guests in the pre-season, but they still hope that guests will recognize what Kolašin offers them this summer.
“The hotels are recording good capacity occupancy, primarily thanks to previously confirmed arrangements (hotels with 4* better occupancy than last year), while according to the information we receive from private accommodation providers, lower occupancy is recorded. We are encouraged by the announced improvement in weather conditions and we are sure that in the end this season will be better than last year. They presented the offer of this city at the fairs in Stuttgart and Munich, held workshops with tour operators from Vienna, and are also counting on guests from Israel,” TO Kolasin says…
As they add, as far as prices are concerned, there are no significant changes compared to the previous season.
“In the last few years, KolaÅ¡in has experienced an expansion in terms of accommodation capacity, and we are very happy that the number of registered buildings for rent is constantly increasing and that we have announced the opening of several high-class hotels, since the city is in a deficit with hotel capacities”, they say from TO Kolasin.

Service prices

Espresso lovers will pay 1.5 euros for this pleasure in Bar, next to the sea, while last summer it was 1.2 euros. “Deutsche” is 1.7 to 2 euros, food also went up in restaurants by up to 20 percent. Pizzas are from eight to 11 euros
A little further north in Petrovac is more expensive than in Bar, juices are from three to 3.5 euros, a slice of pizza is 3 euros, a whole pizza from nine to 15 euros, depending on the type and size, a portion of squid from 14 to 15 euros, portions of meat dishes from 13 to 14 euros
A scoop of ice cream in Bar is 80 cents to one euro, in Petrovac from 1 to 1.2 euros.
Prices in Budva are similar to those in Petrovac, but don’t be surprised if luxury restaurants charge you five euros for a beer.
It is similar to Bar in Ulcinj and Herceg Novi.
A special expense that you have to count on is the furniture on the beaches. On the Bar riviera there are sunbeds and umbrellas for around 10 euros, on Kampala beach in Buljarica you will pay 30 euros for a canopy. It is similar in Ulcinj, but in Budva it is ten euros more expensive.
A special problem for tourists is parking, an hour is charged from 60 cents to one euro, and it is difficult to find a parking space in Budva during the peak season.

Where are the traffic bottlenecks?

What interests drivers is where the bottlenecks could be when it comes to traffic. First, when they come to Montenegro, from the direction of Serbia, the section of the road from Kolašin to Mateševo is being renovated, but the authorities point out that during the season the work will be of reduced intensity. In the preseason, those ten kilometers were covered in about forty minutes.
On the coast itself, crowds await you through Sutomore, Sozina, through Budva, from Budva to Jaz, through the entire Bay of Kotorska. There are ferries between Kamenar and Lepetan, several new ones have been acquired, a ferry with the symbolic name “Hand of Justice” has arrived and it should not be a big problem.
Also, border crossings towards Serbia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina can be a problem.
