France wants to turn its good relations with Montenegro into concrete investment and project cooperation under an intergovernmental agreement signed last year, French Minister for Foreign Trade and Investment Attraction Nikolas Forisije said. The plans cover infrastructure, healthcare and energy, with particular interest in modernising Montenegro’s airports.

France is considering investments in those sectors through partnerships based on mutual benefit. “We are working based on your needs,” Forisije said. The cooperation agenda also includes energy, tourism and transport, especially air transport.

France intends to put forward proposals for airport modernisation, drawing on its experience. Rail projects and motorways are also within the scope of cooperation. Forisije described building bridges, tunnels and roads as demanding work.

French healthcare companies could contribute to developing and building Montenegro’s future health system. Forisije described Montenegro as a stable country and future European Union member with substantial opportunities, which French expertise and experience could address. He said the aim was to build “long-term partnerships based on mutual benefit” and added: “We invest and jointly put money in.”
