The largest regional event dedicated to sustainable development, innovation and the green agenda, will be held next year

The ESG Adria Summit, the largest regional event dedicated to sustainable development, innovation and the green agenda, will be held next year under the auspices of the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović, organized by Sustineri Partners and Porto Montenegro, and with the support of the Government.

The Presidential Information Service announced that Milatović opened the first regional ESG Summit of the Western Balkan countries in April, when he announced that the green agenda and the implementation of activities that are in line with the European Green Deal are one of the priorities in the process of Montenegro joining the EU.

“In order for the country to be attractive to investors, it must be competitive, managed in the right way, open and inclusive, but also green. I sincerely believe that the implementation of standards related to environmental protection, social responsibility and management is key to the long-term economic stability and prosperity of Montenegro and the Western Balkans,” Milatović said on that occasion.

At that time, he called for even stronger regional cooperation on the way to the EU, so that the countries of the Western Balkans would together achieve significant influence and progress in the area of ​​environmental and community protection standards, sustainable development, and responsible corporate governance (ESG standards).

This year’s inaugural ESG Summit aroused great interest, which led to its expansion to the Adria region, so next year’s event will also include Croatia and Slovenia.

The executive director of Sustineri Partners, Biljana Braithwaite, said that the Summit opened a new chapter on the path of sustainable development and the journey towards better and more socially responsible business and management began.

“The great interest of the region, the enthusiasm and success of Montenegro as the host of the event, led to the natural development of the Summit and the expansion of the event to the Adria region. The support of the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, to the ESG Adria Summit next year shows great political will and the importance of the ESG agenda for Montenegro on the road to European integration and gives the event even more importance, for which we are especially grateful,” said Braithwaite.

Next year, the summit will also bring together distinguished dignitaries: presidents from the region, representatives of regional governments, world-renowned experts, business leaders, regional companies and international partners through a common platform for dialogue on investments, sustainable business, presentation of the world’s best ESG practices and innovations, but also comparative advantages of our region.
