The total value of payment transactions for 20 working days in February amounted to 1.7 billion EUR, marking a 3.8% increase compared to January, according to data from the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG).
Of this amount, 93.35% was processed through the Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system, with the remainder handled through the Deferred Net Settlement (DNS) system.
The RTGS system processes individual payment transactions between participants on a gross basis in real time, while the DNS system processes interbank payment transactions on a net basis in deferred time.
In February, a total of 1.19 million payment orders were processed over 20 working days, with 40.85% handled via the RTGS system, and the rest through the DNS system, the CBCG report reveals.
The average daily volume of payment transactions, measured by the number of orders, was 59,490, while the average daily value of the payment transactions amounted to 85.2 million EUR.
During February, the system experienced 58 minutes of downtime out of 10,900 minutes of operation, resulting in an availability rate of 99.47%.
