Port of Bar sees 17% increase in cargo handling for first half of 2024

In the first half of the year, the Port of Bar handled a total of 914,820 tons of cargo, marking a 17% increase compared to the same period last year when cargo throughput was 779,650 tons.

The business plan for this year had projected a cargo throughput of 1.16 million tons for the first six months, indicating a 79% realization rate, according to the management’s report on operations for the first half of the year.

The report highlights a noticeable increase in bulk cargo handling, a decrease in general cargo, and stable liquid cargo throughput compared to the previous year.

Of the total 914,820 tons handled, 774,540 tons were bulk cargo, 115,920 tons were liquid cargo, and 24,360 tons were general cargo.
